Ball State University offers a leadership seminar for everyday leaders.
With a focus on leading in a time of change, the Institute for Transformative Leaders includes five full-day workshops (40 hours) on Intrapreneurship, Strategic Thinking and Shared Vision, Communicating for Change, Leadership and Change Management, and Exploring Models of Transformative Leadership. Guest experts with leadership backgrounds in business, organizational development, software quality, and adult education will facilitate each workshop. Participants will engage through activities, presentations, reading, and reflective work.
This noncredit course will teach us to know ourselves better and to understand how we each lead others in our workplace, in our home life, in our community. We will also read and reflect on Learning as a Way of Leading (by Stephen Preskill and Stephen Brookfield, 2009). Through this book, participants will examine how to support the growth of others, how to develop collective leadership, how to analyze experience, and how to create community among others.
Join us at the Ball State University Indianapolis Center, 50 South Meridian Street. on September 12 and 26, October 10 and 31, and November 14, 2009 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The program costs $400 for this unique five-day, 40-hour leadership seminar (individual sessions are $150).

The target audience includes individuals in service or nonprofit roles who want to strengthen their leadership skills such as medical professionals, community leaders, people shifting careers and roles in their lives. We also welcome those who may be considering graduate school but haven’t fully decided yet.
