What do I need to connect to the Internet in my residence hall room?
Each residence hall is equipped with only one data jack that is used for connecting to the Internet. You will need an ethernet cable to connect your computer to the data jack. If you and your roommate want to connect to the Internet, you will need a 5-port switch in addition to 3 ethernet cables (1 to connect the hub to the data jack and 1 to connect each computer to the hub).

Can I connect to the wireless Internet in my residence hall room? The wireless network may be accessed throughout the residence halls and the main campus. Many computers are built with a wireless card. We sell wireless cards for those computers that do not have one. However, access to the wireless network may be slow due to the number of people using it. We recommend connecting to the Internet using an ethernet cable. These can also be purchased at our store.
