- Laptop computer
While laptops are not required for all students, many students find having their own laptop to be a real asset. The portability of a laptop gives you the ability to take it to class to take notes, plus you can work on projects between classes.
- Protective sleeve for a laptop or a laptop carrying case
If you are going to be carrying a laptop around campus, you will want to protect it. Laptop sleeves or carrying cases are a great way to do that.
- Software
We have several great software titles available for you. The most popular is Microsoft Office, which includes Word, PowerPoint, Excel, as well as other programs you will use during your studies at Ball State. Microsoft Office can also be downloaded for free from the Software and Services Download site.
- Flash drive
Having a flash drive gives you a handy way to store and transport computer files such as class papers, Web site information, and other documents.
- Printer
While printers are available in many of the computer labs across campus, having your own printer will make is quick and easy to print documents for class.
- Residence hall room pack
Each residence hall room has only a single ethernet port, so for more than one computer to be able to access the wired network, a residence hall room pack is needed. You might want to check with your roommate about this to see if you will need one for your room.
