Ball State University has embarked upon a new approach to support students and their parents with respect to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (
FERPA) of 1974. In compliance with FERPA, Ball State has developed a new student Web service called MEG (My Education Gateway). MEG allows a user to view his or her education records in a single login, and if the student chooses, authorize up to four parents/family members to view those education records in PEG (Parental Education Gateway).
Students can log in to their MEG at
https://apps.bsu.edu/MyEducationGateway, view academic information as well as authorize parents to view academic information such as grades, their schedules, and overall academic standing with the university (good, probation, disqualified). A parent or family member will need a BSU Passport ID and can access the information at
https://apps.bsu.edu/ParentEducationGateway.
We hope the service is helpful to students in facilitating good communication with parents about their educational experience. If you have questions or feedback regarding the process, please contact the Office of Registration and Academic Progress,
registrar@bsu.edu or 765-285-1722.
