Digitizing Traditional Media Sources Digital Data Services was created to provide Ball State faculty and staff with digital output of traditional media sources. We can take your photographs, negatives, text, line art, and slides as input, and deliver output via e-mail, flash drives, CDs, and via our Web page.
Exam Processing Another service offered to Ball State faculty members and offices is the collecting of data using an optical scanner. The most popular scanning service is exam grading. This service allows for data to be collected and organized in a fraction of the time it takes to process it manually.
When tests are scanned, we can load the grades into Web Gradebook. Statistical reports are generated as a standard feature of this service. We also provide the instructor with the option of producing individual reports for the students which list their answers as they compare to the test key and provide them with feedback on their testing efforts.
When exams are dropped off, the person will be asked to fill out an Exam Services Job Card. They will also be given a claim ticket that must be presented when the exams are picked up. To learn more, you can watch the

Survey Scanning
In addition to grading exams, Digital Data Services can assist in collecting survey or other study data. The data is collected, and can then be forwarded on for detailed statistical analysis by UCS Research and Design Services. If you choose to process your own data and are just interested in having it in electronic form, you may supply a CD or we have the ability to send the data directly to your e-mail account.
