London Centre

Developed more than 30 years ago, London Centre is one of Ball State’s oldest programs. The London Centre program allows you to experience Europe in a structured manner. A Ball State professor accompanies students and teaches several classes. Students live together in a London hotel and are only a ten-minute tube ride from sites such as the London Tower and Big Ben. Group outings to nearby areas such as Oxford, Stonehenge, and Stratford-upon-Avon provide sightseeing opportunities. With the central hub of London, you are also free to travel on the weekends to countries such as Germany, Ireland, and France.

The program costs approximately $3,500 more than taking classes on campus. To help make up the difference in cost, financial aid and scholarships are available. If you are an out-of-state student, you generally pay the same amount as you would to take classes at Ball State (basically, you pay in-state tuition for this program, so the increase cost to study at the London Centre is typically the same amount you pay to study on campus as an out-of-state student).

Offering a broad liberal arts curriculum, the program is designed to allow you to go to London for a full semester and still graduate on time. The London Centre enrolls about 40 Ball State students each semester from a wide variety of majors and minors. Course offerings try to reflect the essence of London and include a number of core courses as well as independent studies that can be arranged through your major or minor department. Subject areas include theatre, art history, British literature, and British life and culture.
