To be admitted to our doctor of education (EdD) or doctor of philosophy (PhD) program in elementary education, you’ll need to satisfy the
requirements of the Graduate School and meet the
department's criteria.
You will need to have a master's degrees from an accredited college or university with grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.2 (on a scale of 4.0) and acceptable scores on the Graduate Record Examination (GRE).
Send to the Graduate School:
- a completed application
- two copies of official transcripts of all higher learning with degrees awarded
- GRE scores
Send to the chair of the Department of Elementary Education (Teachers College Building, room 216, Ball State University, Muncie, IN 47306):
- five reference letters
- a professional resume and any applicable teaching experience
- a written statement of purpose that includes autobiographical background
- a statement of your philosophy of education
- copies of official transcripts
