To be admitted to our doctor of arts in music program, you’ll need to satisfy the
requirements of the Graduate School as well as meet our
school’s criteria, including having a master’s degree with a cumulative grade point average of at least a 3.2, an acceptable score on the Graduate Record Exam, and submitting professional reference letters. If you are interested in music education, you’ll need at least three years of successful teaching experiences. If you plan to study performance or conducting, you’ll need to have an on-campus audition. If you plan to focus on an academic discipline, tapes, publications and research projects are required. Find detailed information in the
music graduate handbook. Specific
audition requirements apply. If you’re an international student, please apply through the
Rinker Center for International Programs.
