What Majors Would Benefit from This Minor?

If you are thinking of majoring in computer science, geology, math, or chemistry, astrophysics would be a perfect minor for your study. If you are planning to pursue graduate studies in astronomy or astrophysics, you will need to complete our physics major with an astrophysics minor.

No major is offered in astronomy because it is recognized that professional astronomers today need a strong background in physics and mathematics. It is best to take these courses at the undergraduate level. An undergraduate degree in physics better prepares students for both graduate school and for jobs.
