The Black Student Association (BSA), formerly known as the Black Student Union, became a recognized student organization on May 22, 1969. Formerly located in the Multicultural Center, BSA is now advised through the Office of Student Life, the clearing house for all recognized student organizations. If you are looking for an organization that strives to help Blacks preserve, advance, and represent the social and intellectual aspects of  Black Culture, the Black Student Association is the organization for you! In addition, BSA aims to develop closer cooperation and understanding among Black students and all organizations on campus.

What is BSA?
The Black Student Association is a student-centered organization that provides educational, cultural, social, and empowering events for Ball State University students from an African American perspective. Most programs and activities sponsored by BSA are free to Ball State students. Becoming a member of the Black Student Association can provide you with networking opportunities including opportunities to attend conferences at neighboring colleges and universities. You do not have to be African American or of African descent to be a member of BSA.  Everyone is welcome to attend! Programs and activities sponsored by BSA include:

Who do I contact to get involved with BSA?
The Black Student Association is comprised of dedicated students who are eager to learn and reach out to the campus community! Meetings are held every Tuesday at 5 p.m. For more information contact the organization's president, Deontae Vaughn, or our advisor, Tiffany N. Washington, Assistant Director of Student Life.

Where is BSA located?
BSA is currently located in the Arts and Communications building, room 406. Stop by and visit us. We would love to see you!  General body meetings are held every Tuesday in the Art and Journalism Building, room 225, at 5:00 p.m.
