Bracken Library is the main library for the university. It has access to about 2.3 million books, periodicals, microforms, audiovisual materials, software, government publication maps, musical scores, archival records, and other information sources. More than 4,000 visitors—students, faculty and members of the community—use its services daily. The library also houses offices for the Center for Middletown Studies and Unified Technology Support (the Tech Center), among others.
Namesake:Alexander M. Bracken, son-in-law of Frank C. Ball, one of the university's founders. Alexander M. Bracken served on Ball State's Board of Trustees from 1954 to 1980.
