TechTime, Ball State's computer repair service for students, has a new look.

The shop, in room 160 of the Robert Bell Building, now has a new floor, furniture, flat-screen TV and a stylish lime-green color scheme. Service is available by appointment from noon to 9 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesdays and noon to 4 p.m. Fridays.

To celebrate the new look, TechTime also sponsored a logo design contest, announcing results Nov. 14 as part of its grand opening, which coincided with Tech Fest. The winner was senior visual communications major Pete Schaffner, who won an Apple iPod Nano.

TechTime, however, does more than just look good.

"Basically, students are having problems with their personal computers, and that can get rather pricey," said Sarah LaChat, coordinator of technology documentation and support services. "Taking them here is an excellent resource for students – it saves them a little bit of money, maybe a lot of money, depending on the problem."
