April 5, 2007
The Ball State women's bowling team will compete in the United States Bowling Congress (USBC) Intercollegiate Team Championships.
Ball State qualified for the April 18-22 championships by placing in the top four teams at the USBC sectional competition March 24-25 in Chattanooga, Tenn. This is the third time in the past five years the Ball State team has appeared in the USBC championships.
"I am so proud of the Ball State women's bowling team for making it to the USBC championships again," said coach Greg Kirnberger. "This is the first time we have been there two years in a row, which is a tremendous accomplishment for a young team like ours that has one senior, one junior and the rest are freshmen."
Ball State will compete against 15 other college squads from across the country during the national tournament in Wichita, Kan.
