The 2013 Emens Distinguished Professor Lecture Series welcomes Robert Marzano, co-founder and CEO of Marzano Research Laboratory (MRL), to speak at 7 p.m. April 2 in Pruis Hall at Ball State University. Marzano's research addresses current issues in teacher evaluation and best practices that lead to student achievement in the classroom.

Civil rights activist and former Democratic presidential candidate Rev. Jesse Jackson will appear Feb. 10 on campus as part of Ball State's schedule of spring speakers. Also on tap this semester are famed TV newsman Ted Koppel as well as Blake Mycoskie, cofounder of the globally-conscious and ethically-minded Toms Shoes, and Sarah Weddington, believed to be the youngest person to win a case in front of the U.S. Supreme Court — the still highly controversial Roe v. Wade.
