U.S. Representative Luke Messer and Ball State University will once again host the Congressional Leadership Academy on April 23, 2016, for high school juniors in Indiana’s 6th District.

The academy recognizes students from high schools throughout in the congressional district who have shown civic engagement and scholastic excellence. These students will participate in this full-day leadership event and emerge more aware of the challenges that face Indiana - and how they can contribute to the solutions.

The Leadership Event

Participants will have the opportunity to:

  • contribute to critical economic areas
  • engage with sophisticated technology
  • solve problems with recognized experts in the field
  • develop communication skills as you report your solutions to the group

During the event, students will learn more about the following topics through expert panel sessions and interactive experiences:

Throughout the day, participants will gain knowledge of the role higher education plays in solving difficult problems and in building valuable relationships with the private, public, and nonprofit sectors.
