Parades and Events: The Work of Ned Griner, 1968 - 1983 will be shown at the Ball State University Museum of Art, Muncie Indiana, December 11, 2010 through February 20, 2011. Ned Griner's work is seen in public once again, more than 25 years after the series of sculptures was completed. This is also the first time that all his sculptures and related prints have been included in one unified exhibit. Here is the culmination of his artistic studio production, work that spans the final 15 years of his metalworking and printmaking. The Ancient lost wax casting process was used for the many hundreds of individual figures in the sculptures. Each figure was initially hand carved out of wax, then cast in brass. The figures are components of sculptures that describe events from either recorded or imagined history.
