Parades and Events: The Work of Ned Griner 1968-1983

Parades and EventsParades and Events, and the prints depicted in this book are the last of Griner's works as an artist. As an end, he could have done no better. The vast base of knowledge from which Griner drew influence allowed him to create artwork this is both strongly connected to his predecessors and radical with its style. While we can see direct influences of non Western, especially African art and the different artistic movements of the 20th century, they come together in a way that utilizes the influences in his own way and captures the craftsmanship in each model of print. The element of life in his parades, the action of war represented abstractly through his prints, the excellent woodwork of hi early works, all come together in this exhibit to present to the art world a master of his craft that has been unseen by a general public until now.
