Immersive learning is a university-wide initiative that challenges your learning to go beyond the typical classroom activities. You will learn in a variety of environments and gain practical experience while exploring other areas of discipline, personal interests, and cultures.
Immersive learning places you in a team with students from other majors to find real-world solutions to real-world problems for a business or community partner.
For example, political science majors and other students participated in a project gauging opinions about health care in Muncie, Indiana, holding a deliberative assembly, and producing a documentary film broadcast on public television. Hoosiers Debate Health Care was a seminar at the Virginia B. Ball Center for Creative Inquiry.
In addition to the Virginia Ball Center, Building Better Communities Fellows offers projects in which interdisciplinary student teams make a difference for Indiana.
