The primary purpose of financial aid is to provide assistance to students for expenses related to educational needs. The primary responsibility for meeting college costs lies with students and parents. Students, who have met all of the necessary requirements to have scholarships and/or financial aid applied to their student account with the Office of Bursar and Loan Administration, will see these scholarships and/or financial aid on the first Bursar Statement of each semester designated as "Anticipated Aid".

If you are expecting a scholarship and/or financial aid to credit your account and feel you have met all requirements, but the scholarship and/or financial aid does not appear on your Bursar Statement, please contact the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships.

At the time financial aid is applied, any charges for general fees, nonresident fees, special course fees, and room and board charges that are on your account will be deducted. Any financial aid credit remaining after all allowable charges are paid will be refunded to the student. It is possible you may receive a financial aid refund even though your account is not paid in full.

Financial Aid Refunds

If you are set up for direct deposit of financial aid refunds, your refund will be direct deposited into your personal bank account. 

Sign up using your Ball State user name and password and complete the requested banking information. It's that simple.

If you change banks, go back to the sign-up page and update the information.

When a deposit is made to your bank account you will be notified by e-mail. Enter your banking information carefully, as incorrect accounts and routing numbers will delay deposits.

Failure to register for direct deposit may result in a delay in the issuance of your refund. Find out more detailed information, or register for direct deposit.
