In our doctoral program in environmental sciences, you will be trained to use your strong disciplinary skills in biology, chemistry, and geological sciences to address real, interdisciplinary environmental problems.  We emphasize depth of training rather than breadth.

Our environmental sciences doctoral program is established on a foundation of strong BS and MS degree programs in biology, chemistry, and geological sciences, and it is Ball State's only PhD program in the sciences. This is our focus. This how we do science at the PhD level.

Students who earn a doctorate in our environmental sciences program are well qualified for careers in academia, industry, and government--any profession in which fundamental training in science and experience in applying fundamental skills to real environmental problems are needed.
