New freshman and transfer students: If you have confirmed your offer of admissions by paying the $100 deposit, beginning March 3 you may go online and apply for housing, select a meal plan, and search for/request a roommate.

What’s so great about living on campus? In a word, value.

Whether you’re sharing a room in our residence halls or making a home in University Apartments, Ball State Housing and Residence Life offers students the benefits that come from being close to classes and activities, living and learning with friends, making better grades, and getting involved in a community. We call it the on-campus advantage.

housing6You'll be surrounded by all of the cultural, social, and sporting events that make Ball State vibrant, and you can build a network of lifelong friends to share your memories of campus life. Our supportive living-learning communities will connect you to other students with similar academic interests and experiences.

Several of our residence halls are new or recently renovated, providing the home-like environment students request. Some halls feature semiprivate bathrooms. In-house computer labs, low-cost laundry areas, fitness centers, study lounges, free cable TV, fast wired and wireless computer connections, and on-site room repairs are other amenities you'll enjoy. Many room types are available throughout our network of halls, too. Watch our video for more perks about residence hall living.

It's no surprise that our residence hall program was named one of the best in the nation for freshmen. Ball State was the only Indiana college on the list. Freshmen tell us consistently that living in the halls helps them become better students and makes them better prepared for life's challenges. We agree and expect students to follow the residency requirement approved by the Board of Trustees.

Ready to sign up for your place on campus? We invite you to explore what each of our housing locations has to offer. See where they're located, and compare our room and board rates. New freshmen may use our online housing application to tell us your room preferences, search for/request a roommate, and choose a dining plan. Curious about move-in? Check out our move-in videos for LaFollette, DeHority, and Studebaker East.

While you’re at it, check out the job opportunities we have available right where you’ll live.
