Ball State Alumni Association Awards
Ball State University has nearly 190,000 living graduates worldwide. They are active citizens. They are professionally accomplished. And for nearly 100 years, many have volunteered their time and talents to create a vibrant alumni organization that builds and sustains lifelong relationships between alumni and their alma mater, and among one another.
As a lasting tribute to the alumni who have served with distinction, excelled in their careers, and brought an added luster to the University as a result of their success, we offer the following Alumni Awards.

Legacy Scholarships are awarded to selected entering freshmen or currently enrolled students who are children or grandchildren of alumni in the Alumni Association. The scholarships are one-time, nonrenewable awards. Recipients must demonstrate success in academics and achievement to be awarded this scholarship. Last year 50 scholarships were awarded for $2,500 each.
The Legacy Scholarships are funded by the Ball State Indiana license plate program.
Cardinal Legacy Scholarship
The Cardinal Legacy Awards program is designed to increase enrollment of well-prepared, highly motivated, non-resident students who are children or grandchildren of Ball State University alumni. The program will attract qualified freshmen and transfer students from out of state who would likely choose to remain in their home state to pursue a college education.
Robert E. Linson Award
The Robert E. Linson Award was established to promote student involvement in alumni activities. Through the award, it is intended that recognition and financial assistance be provided to Ball State students who contribute their time, energy, and talents to student-alumni related programs at the university.
