Graduate Assistantship available August 12, 2018
Responsibilities: Provide technical expertise and desktop support within the Unified Technology Support Technology (UTS) HelpDesk and other support areas in the UTS Tech Center. Responsibilities include answering phones, handling online chat sessions, and working oneÂ-onÂ-one with members of the university community that have a technology question or problem.
Specific tasks include: Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues; Providing leadership, guidance, and training for the other students employees; Managing and maintaining the UTS software images and disk duplication; Assisting with maintenance and update of the IT knowledge base; Performing presentations; and attending departmental events. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements: Experience providing technology support. Customer service experience. Excellent communication skills. Ability to teach and assist other HelpDesk Desktop Support student employees. Public speaking skills. Ability to work independently. We prefer a candidate with experience working at the Technology HelpDesk or within the Tech Center. Experience developing technical documentation. Availability to work summers and some breaks, as well as some nights and weekends.
Compensation: $10,000 plus fee remission for 20 hours per week during the academic year.
