MEALS: Continental breakfast is served Tuesday through Thursday morning in the Horizon Convention Center from 7:15 AM through 8:00 AM. Although the menu will vary, this normally includes fresh fruit, rolls, muffins, bagels or donuts, coffee, tea, and fruit juices. We will provide a hot, country-style buffet breakfast on Friday morning from 7:15 AM through 8:00 AM. Lunch will be provided Monday through Thursday. An evening reception with food and fellowship usually occurs on Thursday, but this timing is subject to change.
SCHOLARSHIPS: This course is generously supported by a number of organizations dedicated to the development and prosperity of Indiana. See our sponsor page for a list of utilities that offer full non-credit tuition scholarships to participants who reside in their Indiana service areas.
LOCATION: All program sessions will be held at the Horizon Convention Center, 401 S. High Street, Muncie, Indiana, 47305.
CANCELLATION POLICY: A full refund will be given if notice of cancellation is received by the specified date. No refund will be given for any cancellations received after that time. Replacement participants may be accepted to the class with permission of the appropriate scholarship provider if applicable. Scholarship recipients wishing to cancel their registration should inform the scholarship provider - in writing - of their intention, so that the scholarship might be awarded to someone else. Scholarship recipients who cancel after the refund deadline will be held personally responsible for the entire $695 course fee.
SESSIONS: Registration runs from 9:00-10:00 AM on Monday morning. Sessions and times are listed on our agenda page. Most session topics are mandated by the International Economic Development Council, which accredits the course, and are considered mandatory to receive a certificate of completion toward your certification.
ATTENDANCE POLICY: Students attending the Indiana Economic Development Course are required to attend all sessions in order to receive IEDC credit toward certification and automatic acceptance to the Economic Development Institute (EDI). No excuses for absence shall be accepted except those of illness, family emergency, or business emergency. If illness, family emergency, or business emergency forces a student to be absent more than 10 percent (three hours) of the course, credit cannot be granted. If you must miss class, please see the course director ahead of time so your absence can be noted. No refunds can be given for time absent during the course.
OUT-OF-STATE PARTICIPANTS: Speakers are aware that there may be non-Indiana residents in the group, but presentations may still lean toward in-state and surrounding states' data. If the demographics of your state vary significantly from Indiana, you may find some presentations less applicable, but all participants are welcome.
DIETARY RESTRICTIONS: We are happy to provide special lunches for participants with food allergies and other dietary restrictions if you let us know on your registration form that you will need special accommodations. We cannot guarantee special meals if we are not made aware of your needs in advance.
The Horizon Convention Center offers free wireless internet service, but large amounts of internet traffic can cause service to be intermittent.
