Beginning spring semester 2011, Ball State University students, faculty and staff have access to eLearning tutorials from lynda.com. This is a great resource with hundreds of hours of software application tutorials offered free of charge. To gain free access, go to www.bsu.edu/lynda/ and click on the lynda.com image. You will not have free access if you do not go through the Ball State login page.
Lynda.com has online training for over 150 software applications and users have access to over 57,000 online video tutorials instantly, with new titles added every week. The Lynda.com Online Training Library® includes training in all the latest software tools and creative techniques with tutorials on Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Flash, digital photography, web design and development, FinalCut, digital video, 3D, animation, Microsoft Office and many more.
Looking for older versions software, lynda.com has you covered. The library also includes videos offering inspiration and insight from today's leading creative professionals. You can learn at your own pace — stopping, rewinding, and replaying segments as often as you need to.
You have access to all video tutorials in the online training library, but certificates of completion are not part of Ball State's license agreement. You will see ads for certificates of completion when you are using lynda training. In order to provide this great online learning library to the entire Ball State community, the agreement requires you to track your own progress.
Emerging Technologies offers certification exams in both Apple and Adobe applications. Students can take Adobe certification exams in Photoshop, Flash, Dreamweaver and Premiere are free for the first attempt. There is a cost for all other certification exams and additional attemps of the Adobe exams. All exams are proctored.
