Kari Gayes

Account Strategist

Room:WQ 404

Kari's enthusiasm for Ball State took root during her first visit to campus as a high school senior and has grown stronger and deeper since. She even married a fellow Cardinal in the shadow of Beneficence. After eight years in the Phoenix desert, Kari's desire to work in higher education drew her home to Muncie in 2013 to tell the stories of her beloved alma mater.

As an account strategist, Kari draws upon varied experiences to develop and execute marketing strategies with campus partners including the College of Fine Arts; College of Communication, Information, and Media; Government Relations and Community Engagement; and Teachers College.

Favorite projects include those that showcase the many educational and cultural experiences Ball State offers students, faculty, staff, and the local community. She loves helping her clients find new ways to share the incredible things they do with prospective students and the community.

Outside the office, Kari is often found experimenting in the kitchen, reading, indulging her love of entertainment, and getting to know Muncie better. She and her husband, Nick, Ball State's diving coach, dedicate much of their free time to attempting to keep up with their two young children, working on home improvement projects, and cheering on the Cardinals around campus.
