When to Enroll
If you are eligible for benefits, you may only sign up for supplemental life insurance at these times:
New hires—within the first 31 days of employment
Existing employees—open enrollment
When to Cancel
You may cancel supplemental life at any time by logging in to the online benefit enrollment system and editing your benefit selections.
- The maximum amount of voluntary life insurance an employee can purchase cannot be more than five times your annual earnings or $500,000. You can purchase supplemental life insurance in increments of $10,000. The guarantee issue amount for an employee enrolling as a new hire is $200,000.
- The maximum amount of voluntary life insurance for spouses is $250,000. The guarantee issue amount for spouses is $50,000 (if enrolling as a new hire).
- Dependent children are eligible for either $5,000 or $10,000 in voluntary life coverage.
