Ball State offers a tuition remission benefit for eligible employees, their spouses, and dependent children. Additional criteria may be required for eligibility, and certain programs may not qualify.

Retirees are eligible for a 50-percent waiver of basic tuition, student services fee, and graduate fee if they meet the following criteria:

  • Indiana resident
  • at least 60 years old
  • retired
  • not employed full-time
  • taking 9 or fewer credits per semester
  • not eligible for other university tuition remission programs

Independent study course work is also included.

The fee waiver does not cover:

  • mandatory lab fees
  • program fees
  • course fees
  • other special fees
