Taking a Course for Credit/No Credit
The credit/no credit option for taking courses applies in situations when receiving credit for a course without the grade seems beneficial to a student and normally if the course is a general elective. Typically with a course that is taken as a credit/no credit course, the student will not receive a grade for the class that impacts GPA (grade point average), but will receive credit if the class is “passed.” Sometimes students will seek permission from a department to take a class in this manner, or you may find that there are some courses at Ball State that you must take as credit/no credit (like MATH 108). For more information or to indicate that a course is registered as a credit/no credit grade option, you must visit the Registration Office (Lucina Hall B43) and complete a credit/no credit form.
