A Pioneering Start
Founded in 1983 by Dr. Donald F. Kuratko, Ball State’s Entrepreneurship Center was among the country’s first programs to focus on an undergraduate entrepreneurship degree. We have a long tradition of excellence in entrepreneurship education and often are featured in various media outlets as a top-ranked program.
In 1997, the program acquired an existing nonprofit entrepreneurial organization, which led to establishing the Midwest Entrepreneurial Education Center. It built an outreach program that let faculty, staff, and students work with the State of Indiana, Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, and growing entrepreneurial companies. In 2005, the center was rebranded as the Ball State University Entrepreneurship Center, and we haven’t looked back. Check out our rankings and recognitions.
