The School of Art’s Annual Student Show displays artwork produced by students during the past year and gives students the opportunity to participate in a professional exhibition where a qualified juror selects artwork and artistic awards of distinction.
Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Saturday: 1 p.m.-4 p.m.
The public is invited to visit the exhibition at the Atrium Gallery located just off the Atrium Food Court in AJ 101 in the Art and Journalism Building.
The 83rd Annual Student Art Show
This year’s exhibition will be open from Feb. 22 through March 13. The opening reception will be Saturday, February 24 from 6 – 8 pm in the Atrium Gallery.

This art show is managed as a professional exhibition. Students interested in participating in this year’s exhibition should download the full version of the prospectus. You also need to apply online.
Calendar of Events
Please review the following list of dates.
Online submission of your entries are due by 11 pm.
Drop off your artwork between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the Atrium Gallery, AJ 101.
Forms must be attached and all guidelines met.
- Late work will not be accepted, including work set up outdoors or in other areas of the building.
Attend a presentation by juror Harris Deller from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in AJ 175.
The juror will review submitted artwork.
A list of accepted artworks will be posted by entry number outside the School of Art office (AJ 401).
Non-accepted work will be returned to the studio classroom of that medium (e.g., drawings will be returned to the drawing studios, etc.). Please retrieve non-accepted work promptly. Work not picked up will be turned over to the School of Art for disposal.
The exhibition opens 9 a.m. in the Atrium Gallery.
Opening Reception and Awards Ceremony.
- Time: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM (Awards Presented at 7:00 p.m.)
- Location: The Atrium Gallery (AJ 101).
- Attire: Business casual/professional
Pick-up of work from the Atrium Gallery, 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
BSU ID is required. Work not picked up will be turned over to the School of Art for disposal.

About Harris Deller
How is the juror selected?
The Gallery Committee selects the juror for the exhibition each year. The committee invites nominations each Fall semester from the school’s faculty.
The School of Art is proud to announce this year’s juror will be Harris Deller, Professor Emeritus, Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, Illinois
Professor Deller taught at
Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois from 1975-2013. In 2008,
he received the NCECA Excellence in Teaching Award for his outstanding
contributions to education in the field of ceramics. He continues producing his
work at White Roof Studio in Carbondale, Illinois. He will conduct a Juror’s Talk in the Art
and Journalism Building, AJ 175, on Wednesday, February 14 at 5:00 PM.
