This is the schedule you might expect as a student in the biotechnology certificate program. Most students complete the program over two years in conjunction with a BS or MS degree in biology.  You should consult your advisor for specific scheduling.

Other Requirements

Graduate Students:

  • 2 elective courses from BIO 546, BIO 548, BIO 552, BIO 553, BIO 554, BIO 556, BIO 557, BIO 560, BIO 570, BIO 631, or other approved courses.
  • 1-6 hours from BIO 669 (Internship), BIO 694 (Practicum), or BIO 697 (Research) or BIO 697 (Research Paper).

Undergraduate Students:

  • 1 elective course from BIO 446, BIO 448, BIO 452, BIO 453, BIO 454, BIO 456, BIO 457, BIO 470 or other approved courses.
  • 1-6 hours from BIO 369 (Internship), BIO 394 (Practicum), or BIO 498 (Research).
