Assistant Professor of Psychology Counseling
Justin J. Lehmiller, Ph.D., is the Director of the Social Psychology Graduate Program and an Assistant Professor of Social Psychology. He holds a Master’s degree in experimental psychology from Villanova University and a doctorate in social psychology from Purdue University. Before coming to Ball State, Dr. Lehmiller was a College Fellow in the Department of Psychology at Harvard University, where he was honored three times with a Certificate of Teaching Excellence.
Dr. Lehmiller teaches courses on interpersonal and intergroup relations, attitudes and persuasion, social cognition, and advanced social psychology. He has authored a human sexuality textbook, and has co-authored a text on social psychological research methods. His current program of research focuses on casual sex, consensual non-monogamy, sexual fantasy, and safer-sex practices.
Dr. Lehmiller is an elected Full Member of the International Academy of Sex Research. He is also a member of the editorial boards of Personal Relationships, Psychology of Sexual Orientation and Gender Diversity, and the Journal of Social and Personal Relationships.
