Paying for Dual Credit

Policies and Procedures

Upon being admitted to the program, you will receive a Ball State ID number and one free Ball State ID card. If you live nearby, the Ball State ID Card can be used at our library and computer labs.

Additionally, the library requires a second photo ID, such as a driver's license or high school identification to be shown with the Ball State ID Card. Please note that the ID card is not valid for recreation facilities, entrance to residence halls, or any other purpose on campus. If your ID Card is lost or stolen, another may be requested for a fee.

Always talk with your parent or guardian and high school guidance counselor before requesting to drop a course.

To drop a course, email dualcredit@bsu.edu. Include the following:

  • your name
  • name of your high school
  • name and number of the course you no longer wish to take (for example, MATH 161 – Applied Calculus)

Drops are processed the first week of the course.

Withdrawals are processed the second week of the course. The last day to withdraw is the 10th week of class. After the 10th week, withdrawals are only processes under extenuating circumstances.(i.e. concussion, hospitalized, or accident, moving).

If you drop the course by 5 pm on Friday of the first week of the course, you will be issued a 100 percent refund if payment had already been paid. Or, your account will be credited for the tuition amount of the course.

If you withdraw after the first week, you will owe for your course on a sliding scale based on the refund schedule below. You may withdraw from your college class until the end of the tenth week.
