I taught English at a junior high school in Japan from 2007 – 2010 through the JET Program. Participating in JET provided a great opportunity to gain teaching experience in an EFL classroom setting, while also learning about Japanese culture. Returning to the US, I started the MA TESOL/Linguistics program at BSU and continued to work with international students on campus. Studying TESOL opened opportunities to teach around the world, make a strong impact in the classroom, travel, learn about different cultures, and is still incredibly useful in my current career path.
