Honors College students compete for some of the most prestigious scholarships and fellowships offered by the university and national organizations. Ball State has a long history of rewarding outstanding talent, leadership, and academic achievement while also making education affordable.
For New Students
Most freshmen admitted to the Honors College receive Presidential Scholarships. The Whitinger Scholars Program honors 10 unusually talented students each year and provides full tuition, mandatory fees, and room and board for a total of eight semesters. Students who participate in the Whitinger Scholarship competition often receive other scholarships awarded by the Honors College. Learn more about our freshman honors scholarships.
For Current Students
Honors College students may apply for national scholarships, fellowships, and internships that support graduate-level and international study, promote specific areas of undergraduate study, or reward academic excellence. Major awards include the Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship, Udall Scholarship, Rhodes Scholarship, Fulbright Student Grant, National Science Foundation Fellowship, and the Javits Fellowship.
Honors College students are encouraged to apply for an Honors Undergraduate Fellowship. Fellowships provide you a paid opportunity towork one-on-one with a faculty scholar-mentor on an authentic research project.
