If you're looking to transfer your credits to Ball State University, we are glad you have considered the Miller College of Business. Below is a step-by-step process for transferring to MCOB.
Step 1: Apply as an Undergraduate Student
Step 2: Transfer Your Credits
If you are not in the last 30 hours of your business major, and the outside institution is AACSB-accredited, there is a possibility of transferring 300- and 400-level credits with approval of the department chair.
Once you are accepted to Ball State, we look at your business transcript to determine whether your previous courses meet our business degree requirements.
We will accept credits as equivalent if the 100- or 200-level course is the same course content and prerequisite as the Miller College course. We do not accept most 300- and 400-level courses at outside institutions.
Taking Outside Courses
If you’re already a Ball State student and plan to take a course at another institution, then transfer the credit here, you must follow these steps to obtain course-equivalency approval and transfer of credits.
- Complete the Transfer Course Approval Form (PDF) and submit it to the Upper Division Advising Center, AC 224
- Receive feedback from the Upper Division Advising Center regarding the status of your request.
- Complete the course with a grade of "C" or better.
- After grades are posted, request an official transcript from the outside institution. The institution must send your transcript to:

Find out how your credits will transfer to Ball State through our Automated Course Transfer System (ACTS).
If a transferred course serves as a prerequisite to a pre-business or business course you wish to enroll in, the credit must be posted to the Ball State system before the start of the semester. Otherwise, documentation must be submitted to Student Services, WB 147.
