Are you ready to apply to our master’s or graduate certificate program? We have a two-part admissions process
1. Apply to the Graduate School
Are You an International Student?
If you plan to attend Ball State but live outside the U.S., our Office of International Admissions will help you through the application and enrollment process.
Complete a Graduate School online application.
Send official transcripts from any institution other than Ball State where you have taken college-level course work (including dual credit earned in high school). The minimum GPA for regular admission is 2.75.
You'll be notified in writing when you have been accepted, and the Graduate School will then forward your application and admission letter to the Department of Urban Planning.
Apply to the Graduate School
2. Apply to the Program
If You Have a GPA of 3.0 or Above
You do not need to apply separately to the Department of Urban Planning. Upon acceptance by the Graduate School, our office will receive notification of your interest in urban planning. We will inform you of our decision.
If You Have a GPA between 2.75 and 3.0
Please submit the following at the same time you apply to the Graduate School:
Email us your statement and letters
- at least three letters of recommendation (a minimum of two from instructors); either add these to your Graduate School application or have them emailed to us.
- a two-page personal statement explaining why you want to pursue a degree in urban planning; the letter should also address your career goals
