Strong traditions and a commitment to quality and innovation have helped Ball State become one of the top universities in the Midwest. We’re nationally ranked and recognized in fields as diverse as telecommunications, nursing, landscape architecture, finance, and entrepreneurship.

Orientation

Orientation is designed to prepare students and parents for the first semester at Ball State. Student Leaders work with incoming freshmen, and Family Leaders work with you and other family members.

Get Involved

The Parents Advisory Council is a small organization of parents that works to meet the objectives of the Parents Association. The council serves as a means of two-way communication between parents and the university as it creates an avenue for parents to ask questions and express concerns. Find out how to become a member.

Security

At Ball State we believe it’s our duty to foster a campus environment that is free of alcohol abuse and illegal drug use. Through the Parental Notification Policy, we ask parents to help us address the abuse of alcohol and other drugs by college students. The Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) permits colleges and universities to inform parents/guardians of students under 21 years of age when their student has been found in violation of university alcohol and drug policies. We are dedicated to creating a safe environment at Ball State. Review our Annual Security Report.

Costs

We know that you’re concerned about the "bottom line" of your student’s education and how to pay for it. Learn more about costs and financial aid at Ball State.

Payments

Bursar statements are available online through eBill for your student’s tuition, housing, and other fees.  Using this service, you can check your account or pay online by electronic withdrawal from a checking or savings account (e-check). Once your student provides you account access, you may sign in to begin making payments or set up automatic withdrawal. Paper statements are no longer available.

Future Vision

The Ball State Strategic Plan was created to advance the university to a new level of distinction. It includes improving the quality of the student body, providing meaningful immersive learning experiences for our undergraduates, continuing to build and sustain high-quality academic programs, and fostering a university community that is both vibrant and supportive.
