Ball State University is very proud of its Housing and Residence Life program, which is nationally recognized for excellence. Within this program, there are four positions that offer a direct opportunity to support students for academic and personal success. These positions are listed as follows:
Assistant residence hall directors: Ball State hires graduate students who are pursuing a master’s degree (often in student affairs administration) and work directly with the residence hall directors in the residence halls. Assistant hall directors also live in apartments within the building and serve as a resource for students.
Graduate assistant coordinator of living-learning programs: This person assists the assistant director of Housing and Residence Life with the creation and support of living-learning communities. This graduate assistant also lives in an apartment within the halls and serves as a resource for students.This position is available every other year. It will be offered for the 2017-2018 school year.
Graduate coordinator for student leadership: This personassists the assistant director for student leadership in the facilitation of student leadership development initiatives in the residence halls through advising housing and residence life’s student organizations
Resident managers: Resident managers are graduate students who are pursuing master’s degrees and work in the University Apartments community. Resident managers also live in each apartment community and serve as a resource for student residents.
