Undergraduate and graduate students will have the unique opportunity to compete in the Case Study Competition during the 5rd Annual Unity Connections Conference on January 21, 2017. The Case Study Competition will take place in the L.A. Pittenger Student Center from 11:45 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. Participants are welcomed and encouraged to enter the competition as a pair. Honors will be awarded to first place, second place, and third place winners in both the undergraduate and graduate student track.
All participants are expected to register for the conference and competition and will be notified of their scheduled time 72 hours prior to the conference. The case study will also be provided to participants at this time. There are only eight times for participation in each track (undergraduate student track and graduate student track). The schedule will be made on a first come, first serve basis. Pairs may only be comprised of two students from the same class standing (an undergraduate and graduate student team is not permitted). Participants will receive a verification no later than 24 hours after they have signed up to confirm that they are eligible to compete in the competition within their specified track.
Participants should examine the case study and create a solution with their designated partner before the day of the conference. Pairs will have 15 minutes to share their solution with the judges the day of the conference during their scheduled time. Judges for each track will be made up of faculty, staff and students committed to furthering diversity initiatives and multiculturalism on Ball State University's campus. Honors will be given based on the quality of responses, use of scholarly sources and theoretical perspectives.
Interested in signing up? Registration will open on December 1st, 2016 and will close on Wednesday, January 12th, 2017 to all students, faculty, staff, and community members.
