Larry W. Metzing
Larry Metzing's education and professional affiliations include: BS in accounting from Ball State University; University of Wisconsin School of Banking; Indiana Certified Public Accountant; Indiana Real Estate Broker; Certified Internal Auditor; Chartered Bank Auditor; International Business Brokers Association; the M&A Source; the Association for Corporate Growth; and past-president of the Venture Club of Indiana. Metzing’s business career includes accounting, auditing, banking, and entrepreneurial ventures. His financial consulting and services career began in 1970 with the public accounting firm of Ernst & Ernst in Indianapolis. He then joined Indiana National Bank, as director of Internal Audit followed by director of the Commercial Credit division and member of the Commercial Loan Committee. In 1980, he co-founded an entity initiating a “roll up” acquisition strategy to acquire, own, operate, and eventually sell a group of Indiana nursing homes. In 1981, Metzing co-founded Indiana Business Advisors, Indiana’s largest and most prestigious business brokerage serving buyers and sellers of small and mid-market businesses. In 2005 Metzing was recognized by the Indiana CPA Society as its “Outstanding CPA in Business & Industry.”
Metzing has been active in the Sigma Chi Fraternity, serving on the Ball State Chapter House Corporation for 20 years, president of Constantine Capital, the national fraternity mortgage lending entity, president of the Indianapolis Alumni Chapter, and chairman of the Ball State New House Construction, Finance, and Fundraising Campaign. Metzing has been honored by the Sigma Chi as a Significant Sig, Order of Constantine, House Corporation Officer of the Year, Hoosier Sig of the Year, and the Outstanding Alumni Award.
In addition to his service on the foundation board, Metzing’s Ball State related activities include service as a member of the Ball State Alumni Council, Entrepreneurship Advisory Committee, Alumni Campaign chair for the Bold National Campaign Committee, Accounting Advisory Council, and the Cardinal Executive Organization. Metzing has also served as president of the Miller College of Business Alumni Board. He has been recognized as the Beta Alpha Psi Accountant of the Year. Metzing has received the Award of Achievement and Award of Distinction from the Ball State University Miller College of Business and has served as a commencement speaker to the College of Business graduates. Metzing was inducted into the Ball State University Miller College of Business Hall of Fame in 2012.
Metzing resides in Zionsville, Indiana with his wife of 45 years, Jeannine (DeCarlo), Ball State University Education major and member of Alpha Phi Sorority. They have three children and nine grandchildren.
