Stefan S. Anderson
Stefan (Steve) Anderson studied economics
at Harvard before receiving an MBA from the University of Chicago. He spent 14
years with a large Chicago bank before leaving his position there as its
executive vice president to get into the community banking business in Muncie,
where he served as chief executive officer and chair of First Merchants
Corporation for 25 years.
Anderson has been involved in many Ball State
activities since 1975 and was asked to join the Ball State University
Foundation board in 2005, where he served as chair from 2010 to 2012. Anderson continues to be inspired by the
competence and achievements of other board members, most of whom are Ball State
He lives in Muncie, Indiana with his wife, Joan. The
family spends much of their summer in Baileys Harbor, Wisconsin. Anderson has
two grown children and six grandchildren.
