Ball State Researcher Studying Exercise Effects on Astronauts
Ball State Researcher Studying Exercise Effects on Astronauts (Sept. 9): Dr. Scott Trappe is the Director of the Human Performance Laboratory and the John and Janet Professor of Exercise Science at Ball State. Trappe was a part of a team of researchers that developed a new exercise regiment for astronauts to do in space. He says the exercises were designed to address a variety of issues to protect all aspects of the body during prolonged space flight.

Messer Announces Creation of Congressional Leadership Academy
Sixth District Congressman Luke Messer, along with Ball State President Jo Ann Gora, announced Friday the creation of the Congressional Leadership Academy. Two students from every high school in the sixth district will be selected to participate in the event.

Ball State Economist Explains Chained CPI
Those opposed to the chained CPI say it will mean smaller increases in Social Security checks over time. Ball State Economist Mike Hicks says the chained CPI allows people to choose between similar products in places where they're cheaper. He says many economists believe the current CPI overstates inflation because it doesn't take this into account.
